As a former dancer, I've experienced a roller coaster of emotions before and during a performance. This was mostly due to the anxiety of performing flawlessly before going on stage and the grief of making a minor error that only I noticed. On the other hand, as an audience member, I thought many pieces were amazing and flawless, and I admired how the dancers immersed themselves in the movements. Aside from professional dancers and dancing critiques, it appears that there is often a lack of emotional connections between dancers and audiences.

In addition to the happiness and captivation experienced during the performance, dancers encounter a variety of mixed emotions before standing on stage. “Inner” focuses on the performers' innermost emotions, particularly anxiety and sadness, in order to communicate their emotional journey to audiences through makeup. I want to convey the hope of bringing the dancers and the audience closer together, allowing the audience to fully perceive and appreciate both the beauty of the performance and the dancers' inner emotions.
